Background
Dunlop Protective Footwear designs and manufactures protective footwear for industries including agriculture, poultry farming, oil and gas, and mining.
Dunlop had worked with Exclaimer for years, managing email signatures centrally through an on-premises deployment. When the company set out to move its email environment from on-premises Exchange to Microsoft 365, that signature management had to move too, without losing the centralized control or consistent branding already in place. Across 400 mailboxes and roughly 200 workstations, there was no room for anything to fall out of step during the switch.
Before & after
Before
Email signature management tied to on-premises servers due for retirement
No clear path to Microsoft 365 without rebuilding email signature deployment from scratch
Any inconsistency during the switch would touch every mailbox at once
After
Email signature management fully hosted in Exclaimer's cloud solution
The same centralized control and branding carried straight over to Microsoft 365
No on-premises software left for IT to maintain
Dunlop's challenge
Moving 400 mailboxes to a new email platform is disruptive enough on its own. Dunlop needed to do it without rebuilding the centralized email signature management the business already relied on.
The IT team faced a few specific pressures:
Platform migration risk: Shifting from on-premises Exchange to Microsoft 365 meant re-establishing email signature deployment on new infrastructure, with no room for inconsistency mid-migration.
Continuity of branding: Every email signature needed to look and function exactly as it had before the switch, keeping the Dunlop logo and legal compliance standards intact across all outgoing mail.
Operational scale: With around 200 workstations and 400 mailboxes to move, any manual step in the process multiplied the chance of error or downtime.
Zero margin for error: Employees across Dunlop's global operations needed to keep working without noticing any change to how their email signatures behaved.
The results
400
mailboxes moved to cloud-based email signature management
48
hours to complete the full migration
Zero
disruption to users during the switch
How Exclaimer helped
Exclaimer's cloud solution gave Dunlop a way to move to Microsoft 365 without starting its email signature management over. The centralized control the IT team already relied on carried straight across to the new environment.
With Exclaimer, Dunlop could:
Move without rebuilding from scratch: Bring email signature deployment onto Exclaimer's cloud platform without recreating templates or rules, so the switch to Microsoft 365 didn't mean starting over.
Keep every email signature consistent: Apply the same branding and formatting across every mailbox, with the same logo and legal compliance standards carried over automatically.
Retire on-premises servers: Remove the need for local infrastructure dedicated to email signature management, since everything now runs from Exclaimer's cloud platform.
